Death Battle Prediction: Bugs vs Coyote (Scoob and Shag vs Tails Gets Trolled)

"One ought to hold on to one's heart; for if one lets it go, one soon loses control of the head too." ― Friedrich Nietzsche

Bugs, the static-wielding commander from Scoob and Shag.

Coyote, the strongest Neutral of them all from Tails Gets Trolled.

When faced with the constant of war, many people may snap under the pressure. After all, the constant pressure placed upon a person can persist into horrid mentalities. This doesn’t mean that it’s impossible to not maintain a mindset when you’re constantly pressed into fighting- but it’s very much difficult, even for those most mentally prepared and protected. And when you’re growing up as a bright soul who looks towards the future, seeing the pain of everyone around you dying or having lives ruined out of your indirect influence- descending into negativity becomes unfortunately very likely.

This doesn’t stop the ability to maintain composure, but needing to check yourself at every point in life becomes increasingly difficult as time progresses on with conflict and war being a staple of your life- a theme that’s become highly common with these two as their lives progressed. Yet, as these two have lived, they’ve been able to keep their heads high with both their belief of power, and their intention to keep going even after thrusted to the worst points of their life in the past. After all, being one of the strongest is a heavy responsibility- but when you’re at the top of a food chain, there’s always going to be a bigger fish. Between the tragic and the calamituous ups-and-downs these two’ve gone through, only one of these two powerhouses can take an upperhand to breakdown the other. Will the Static degrade Coyote to nothing but his scream, or will the leader of the Neutrals bring Bugs six feet under? That’s something you’ll only find out in this DEATH BATTLE!

Before We Begin…

Simply put, for both of these characters we’ll be using their webcomics of origin, Tails Gets Trolled and Scoob and Shag. There isn’t much extended media, so besides the exclusion of the comedic parodies that Tails Gets Trolled has made of itself, that’s about all that we’ll have to talk about here.

Oh, and of course, per standard we aren’t doing any weird cross scaling for these series. :P

Background

Bugs

Life seemed to be wonderful. Before the giant war that plagued the life of the Toones, Bugs was an honest commander who lived life to her best alongside her people, caring for those around her rather notably. For this reason, when Bugs had gotten a mysterious transmission from Mars who genuinely seemed to appreciate the means of contact and wished to support them, she could not resist herself as she learns more about the Martians- more specifically, Bugs is aware of the capabilities of the Martians to wield an ability known as Ballyhoo. This ability, which Toones normally wielded, had been a generally more socially acceptable idea, however the idea that another planet was able to harness this power brought interest to Bugs, who intended on sharing it with those higher up to her.

However, as Bugs brings up her caution with the higher council, Bugs would in turn accidentally call upon the Martians. Showing their transmission, including extensive combat between the Martians and others, Bugs would accidentally release the transmission of Antihoo trapped within this video- corrupting and infecting various Toones into monsters as a result. Despite this release, though, Bugs still held the intention of doing her best to try to come in contact and support Mars. This obviously hadn’t gone well, leading to Bugs to be put down the road of execution for this behavior, however being interrupted by the Martian invasion allowed Bugs to flee before the beginning of the war, defecting from her people as to hide away during this extensive conflict.

By the start of the next conflict after the war, Bugs reappears in opposition towards Scoob and company, particularly aiming to kill Shag at the time. However, Scoob would turn in and appear against Bugs- fighting against her in a direct confrontation that Bugs understands isn’t normal. Thus, due to the memory-wiped Scoob’s behavior, Bugs would eventually self-reflect on the fight and her past, enraging her as she goes to continue on fighting Scoob which would only be interrupted by an explosion caused indirectly within their fight by the rest of the company. With another commander, Mickey, and his appearance, Bugs defects from fighting until Scoob’s life is threatened, pushing her to defend Scoob alongside his friends as they fight back against Mickey.

Two years or so later, Bugs is sought out by Scoob after the regression of all of the previous Toones and commanders with the intention to take down Mickey- which Bugs would follow through with hadn’t it come down to going against the commander’s influence, primarily military and over the Martians themselves. With this barrier, Bugs held no intention to oppose Mick directly, however she would nonetheless later support Scoob in combat against an Antihoo mutant with her own small operative team. Maintaining her sass and composure, Bugs’ power remains at its highest. Having not dampened in her strength at all, she prides herself in this strength which she’ll be willing to use for any cause, with her primary intention going against the threats that do indeed oppose the world even if the fight takes her away from her roots. After all, it’s the least she can do, ‘ay Doc?

Coyote

Religious conflict has been a concept since the beliefs began- different ideas and thoughts conflicting against one another leading to direct opposition… and that’s an idea propagated much farther than you might think at first. Meet the Neutrals, a group of Christians and Satanists who both made weapons through people with rituals, meant to fight against one another due to their contrasting beliefs in Heaven and Hell. This lead to endless murder, however this wouldn’t stagnate for long as this war ranged on. Of course, while the rituals began to lessen, and soon went extinct, the methods hadn’t lessened, with certain numbers of people continuing their forms of rituals to see those who would be chosen by the lord. Enter Coyote and his friends, drunken company who would accidentally drink blood that came from a Hellhound and an Angel together- blessing all five friends with the power of the Neutrals, becoming burdens to their lives.

See, the power of the Neutrals offered great power for them- however, it was horrible for them, too. Being generally unable to control themselves besides a few, the power of the Neutrals cuts away from the lifespan of those who can’t control their emotions, in turn hurting most of them- save for Coyote. Renowned for his potential, he was the only one of his friends capable of controlling his emotions well, bringing him down the path to take the role of leader with the Neutrals. Now having found newfound prestige alongside his friends, they all wanted to help their best friend Porky, who’d been at the lowest point in his life. However, after Porky’s recently redeemed relationship with his wife and kids had been ruined because they were murdered at the hands of a murderous Christian, he’d hung himself- and his friends were the ones to witness his death. With many of them being overwhelmed, Coyote pushed onwards as he held his head high, intending on going towards a much brighter future.

Leading Coyote down the path of fighting against Trolls, he later goes on a mission to save Fudd in his travels alongside the Trollhunters, taking over a troll base alongside the many combatants partaking in the war against the trolls. However, he soon clashes with a demonic Neutral known as Demaro who’s aware of Coyote’s legendary status, opposing him completely which leads the two into fighting. Of course, because of Coyote’s aforementioned status, he easily overpowers Demaro all across the fight, taking one-ups every time the two brought up more tactics in the fight. This hadn’t been all, though, with Coyote playing with Demaro’s body through his control- which broke into Demaro unleashing the Guardian of Souls, Miladox, indirectly, sucking up Coyote into his own dimension. Now maintained in this own world, Coyote is directly targeted by Miladox who wishes to devour his soul.

Taking on a highly powerful monster such as Miladox brings Coyote to struggle, now, as the Guardian of Souls is taken on with Coyote throwing out numerous summons to match him. This causes Coyote to still take an upperhand, taking one of the bodies of Miladox’s victims after they lose many of its souls, and using this body’s powers over the fight to overwhelm it alongside his strings. With this, he’s able to eventually work around Miladox’s weaknesses and seems to overpower it- however, by using Demaro’s body in the real world, Miladox absorbs several souls, leading Coyote to hide away in his book. Constantly fighting against the soul absorbing guardian, Coyote’s eventually able to pull apart his tactics to finish off Miladox… and allows him to take down Demaro and take all of his summons away, bringing them into his book.

However, Coyote soon begins to be consumed by his emotions overtime. After meeting with the spirit of his friend Porky, Coyote soon begins to slightly lose himself. Being overwhelmed by emotion, he’d lose a few years of his lifespan, which would cause him to focus on his life. Despite his sadness and intentions, Coyote soon abandons this sadness as he becomes accepting- and soon, he’s filled with rage. Lead down to the path of destruction, Coyote is forced to fight against new Trolls that he takes on, killing them in a moments notice after taking an injury when meditating. But with these emotions being constantly in check, Coyote’s life is soon threatened as the world around him becomes darkened, and it’s shown that Satan himself appears in his eyes, intending on taking over his soul. However, by praying, Coyote is blessed by the angel Eyael, which gives him newfound powers and protects him from Satan’s influence at the sacrifice of this heavenly being.

Exhausted by everything, Coyote intends on fleeing the area- with him being targeted by the Troll King himself who appears in the area. Coyote would ignore the Troll King, however, deflecting and counteracting his attacks to where he’s able to fly away by using his newfound powers. This leads to him travelling into the sky over the Troll City in question and filling every Troll with his string with a certain shower, collapsing away into his book. Despite everything he’s lost, though, and his exhaustion, he still remains deliberate on his intentions to take down the Trolls, those who he promised before to kill and those who’ve hurt his friends. Even when he’s lost his closest friends, he’s ultimately held the intention to do his best for those who remain and everyone else he knows.

Experience and Skill

Bugs

As a highly notable commander, Bugs retains a ton of experience in her time under the military with Toones having taken on and defeated a large number of entire armies. She’s fought in the Martian war across the years of inactivity where everyone went rogue, and has displayed extensive knowledge of how to fight both in direct combat and how to overwhelm opposing Ballyhoo’s completely with her own. Essentially, Bugs isn’t anything to scoff at with her skill, a level that has developed even further as she learned her Martian Art and extended the capabilities of her Ballyhoo to more skilled usages of it with Double Edged Sword.

Coyote

Coyote is one of the most impressive fighters in his story, which is detailed several times across his story. Besides being one of the more statistically impressive characters, Coyote has retained the ability to easily learn about the disadvantages and weaknesses of his opponents, such as having learned about and knew how to counteract Miladox, who’s main limit had been stopping it from killing Coyote immediately as to get more souls out of his book. He’s displayed the ability to trick his opponents into wasting their sources as to use it against them or heavily backfire, displayed extensive creative technique usage with his strings, and the experience of battles he’s gained gives him a lot under his belt. This becomes even more so notable with his ability to adapt on-the-fly to situations he’s unused to, or apply the skills of prior fights.

Equipment

Bugs

Commander Outfit

Bugs’ original outfit equipped as a commander. While it did not demonstrate many innate power, Bugs has made it immune to the effects of Dead Air. The Commander outfit is generally given to anyone in power with the Toones, with Bugs herself wielding it in her first appearance. However, she has since abandoned it for a more comfortable style.

Coyote

The Book

Coyote’s primary tool, simply known as the Book, is an interspatial object that is used to contain beings and information of them. As a Neutral, Wile is an innate necromancer, however by using the Book he can contain the spirits, information, and bodies of those he resurrects as to use their powers more accurately, making him a very dangerous opponent able to pull up any tool for a job.

However, Coyote also maintains one special additive ability: Through entering the book himself, Wile is able to close himself off away into another dimension that exists within the pages. By using this realm, Coyote can hide away in combat while being able to approach his opponent from multiple angles, whether summoning from inside the book or refreshing his energy within it by hiding away.

As the core of his fighting style and means of combat, Coyote holds a ton of reilance upon the book. While this isn’t inherently a con, due to the reliability of the whole tool, Coyote isn’t able to particularly protect himself should his book be destroyed… Which, of course, is a lot more harmful when Coyote hides away inside of it. But despite this weakness, this hasn’t shown any complete consequences, and it usually isn’t something Coyote needs to worry about it.

Abilities

Bugs

Dead Air

For context, Bugs maintains a special power known as a Ballyhoo, with her’s being known as Dead Air. Ballyhoo is a power of one’s soul that increases its strength based on the of those who view her- like a cartoon character. With the powers first developed from the enjoyment people had gotten from viewing the Toones, they had gained immense power that blessed them- including Bugs herself. These powers range in many ways, from amplifying speed or strength to being able to create objects or summon attacks.

Dead Air is a Ballyhoo that forms space within space- creating a form of energy that erases anything it touches inside of itself (although Bugs can obviously control this degree). Furthermore, Bugs has gained an enhancement allowing her to form more specific weapons out of her Ballyhoo’s energy and presumably more powerful constructions across a longer range.

Twilight Blessing

Bugs was given the Twilight blessing through unknown means which strengthens her Ballyhoo to a degree much stronger than before, giving it new abilities and unlocks further potential by tipping the scales (literally) in her favor.

Blessing Amplification

By reaching out to the being that blessed her, Bugs can call upon more power at the cost of sacrificing herself further into a deal with a god. This allows her to access even more strength with her Ballyhoo and unlock further potential.

Fear Inducement

Due to Bugs’ immense power, anyone who can sense her Ballyhoo energy is overwhelmed by it if they aren’t powerful enough. This not only gives an intimidating aura but can induce psychosis- supposedly hearing the screams of all of Bugs’ victims through the static.

Fourth Wall Breaking

Bugs can talk to the audience and acknowledges them constantly. This leads to quick witted responses from Bugs as well as constant bickering towards both the audience- and her opponents.

Static Aura

With Bugs’ Dead Air, she can create a static aura around herself which can passively erase and destroy objects that come in contact. This also allows Bugs to have a surrounding static space defending her at all times, making her practically immune to physical attacks… akin to a certain sorcerer.

Static Propulsion

By forming Dead Air behind and around herself, Bugs can launch herself forward with acceleration- launching her through walls at a devastating speed and being able to move faster than anyone else in her squadron.

Existence Erasure

By using Dead Air, Bugs can envelop a being in Dead Air and take them apart, usually killing them. The main caveat with this ability is that Bugs needs to touch her opponent to do so, and has apparently refrained from using it as of recently.

Forcefield Creation

Due to Dead Air’s ability to form space within space, Bugs can use Dead Air to create walls that are immune to attacks to protect herself or others, as well as make herself immune to attacks by shielding herself in an aura of static due to her resistance of Dead Air’s ability, as mentioned earlier. These walls also retain the ability to destroy attacks, too.

Static Vortex

Bugs can create a vortex of static which can devastated the entire area around her, destroying a large portion of a hallway in her fight with Scoob.

Sharp Static

Bugs can create sharp static with her Ballyhoo that can seemingly be used as a melee weapon if the situation is desperate enough.

Deconstruction

Bugs is able to use Dead Air to destroy attacks- both physical and non-physical, and even metaphysical abilities such as Mickey’s Power Ballyhoo- in order to protect the people she joins sides with or herself.

Static Surfing

Bugs can surf through the air with her Ballyhoo, creating static underneath her that she can use to maneuever around. She has used this multiple times, both in combat as well as to escape it.

Martian Art: Double Edged Sword

A Martian Art technique where Bugs uses her Ballyhoo to create swords out of static from Dead Air, acting as sharpened space which can cut through seemingly anything given enough force behind them. As mentioned, these attacks can easily rip apart beings, likely bypassing their durability through sheer sharpness and Dead Air’s innate ability.

Twilight Eulogy

By using her double-edged sword technique in combination, Bugs can target a being multiple times and cutting them all across their body. By doing this, it usually completely dissects them- usually instantly taking down an opponent when she uses this killing blow.

Fusion Attack

By enveloping another object with immense force (which she does so with Shag) she can protect the being from all harm and deploy immense destruction, allowing her to take care of opponents that refuse to fall at the hands of her ability if possible.

Coyote

Neutral Powers

In the world of Tails Gets Trolled exists a group of beings known as Neutral who were originally formed as a weapon between the great war of Christians and Satanists, cursed with the weakness of emotional integrity that their entire lives depend on- More specifically, a Neutral must obtain control over all of their emotion and never overwhelm themselves, otherwise their powers will be lost permanently. Neutrals have many powers in their variety- usually depending on the users very soul. For example, Neutrals can take the memories of undead by digesting their brains, they can enact their forms in the metaphysical realm if they pass away, and their most notable ability is their formation of ‘strings’ through their sheer will from the vain of their soul. Besides the innate emotional catch, however, Neutrals have an innate connection to the Heavens and Hell. As a result, the Neutrals may be enforced to choose a side between Heaven and Hell- with the former risking the disadvantage of Satan himself coming for one’s soul, while the latter will make you a much weaker Neutral in strength and will. Coyote himself has been blessed by the Angels, empowering him with more strength than that of the average Neutral (however, Coyote was already an immensely powerful Neutral beforehand, adding even more onto this level-up).

his words.

Coyote is able to twist people into insanity by using his words, such as seen with Demaro, driving him over the edge by making fun of him at every turn. This went even further when it was revealed Coyote wasn’t even pushing himself the whole fight, in truth having been pulling back and putting on restrictions. Of course this comes with a catch, with Coyote generally sticking to himself and keeping his emotions in check, with his influence being only usable when he’s in a proper mindset to do so.

Fourth Wall Awareness

Coyote is aware of the DeviantArt polls that root for him, which has brought him to push himself even further into fighting. Plus, given he’s one of the top rated characters in the entire series, tons of people have to be rooting for him at all times.

String Tornado

By using Road Runner’s speed, he is able to form a tornado which he can thereby wrap with his strings- creating a dangerous area around his opponent and tearing them apart, while preventing them from fighting back.

Shield Generation

Coyote can form barriers passively around him with string that’s described as being ‘unbreakable’ and can only be broken by other Neutrals with enough willpower.

String Slinging

Using his strings, Coyote can toss himself around the battlefield in order to better maneuver himself- using this technique to either sling himself across the ground or, by grabbing onto another person in the air or higher ground, launching himself upwards into the air.

Nerve Control

By forcing his strings inside of someone, he can paralyze them entirely and control them. This allows him to control others without needing to entirely take over their nervous system as he normally does with dead bodies or other puppets.

Summoning

With his strings or directly by his hand, Coyote can summon beings from out of his book into the physical world, awakening their bodies or allowing him to control a dead body to puppeteer.

String Manipulation

With strong enough willpower, a Neutral can manipulate another Neutral’s strings. This allows them to control them as well as fully interact with strings- as they are normally incapable of or will simply clash against- which Coyote used to manipulate Demaro’s strings as his own and destroy them.

Superb Willpower

Simply put, Coyote is mentally scared in so many ways that truly his nature as a Neutral defies existence- seeing many of his friends die in front of his very eyes. However, because he is the most powerful Neutral and one of the last of his friends, he is unwilling to lose anything. Coyote’s willpower has been strong enough to currently overpower every Neutral he has fought against or known in the story.

Body Manipulation

By imbuing Demaro’s body and Neutral strings with his own, Coyote can control his entire body and muscle functions. This is in the same regard as his ability to control the dead- likely allowing Coyote full manipulation of his opponent’s abilities should he affect them.

Ball of String

Coyote can create a massive ball of string that wraps around opponents that are hit and caught by it- usually taking them out of a fight for a bit due to wrapping them in it, likely incapacitating them. As seen within his fight with Demaro, Coyote can also create smaller balls of string capable of ripping through his opponents full-force strings with ease.

String Sewing

By using his strings in a certain way, Coyote can sew up wounds, completely patching them up. This has been shown many times, such as when his throat was cut open, his ears were completely cut off, and his spine was cut open, all of which he was able to heal from and return back to normal with.

Chain Creation

By imbuing his string in a certain way, Coyote can strengthen them to such a degree that they form powerful chains- which he best shows against Miladox, chaining his entire body up with them- a tactic used to incapacitate opponents and easily draw heavier targets into his book.

Meditation Control

By focusing his mind, Coyote can control all of his summons at once. This includes a vast number of summons- over hundreds of seemingly- which due to the stress it puts on his mind he must do so by losing control of his own. This state has also allowed him to communicate with the dead, regain his power, and strengthen his body when his emotions overpower him.

Instinctive Reaction

Coyote can instinctively react in his brain to attacks- an ability active even when he is meditating- allowing him to consciously know about attacks incoming that he can’t normally perceive with his eyes or movement.

Pain Tolerance

Coyote can survive extensive amounts of injury, such as bullet wounds, having his ears or throat slashed open, feeling the pain across his puppets when they take damage, as well as taking immense falls that would normally kill someone.

Projectile Reflection

Coyote can use his strings to deflect and redirect attacks, such as seen with when he used them to deflect a shotgun blast, and can even redirect powers such as lightning if need be.

Neutral Rage

If Coyote becomes too emotional, his mind is plagued with evil- empowering him with brutality that can devastate any opponent he comes in contact with. This seemingly strengthens his perception and abilities, as well as him losing all intention to hide his power and thereby loses control over himself.

Spear of String

Coyote can form a spear made of his Neutral string that can pierce through opponents, ripping them apart and dissecting them. This can also be used to force out their own powers- as seen with Sonichu’s lightning- allowing Coyote to take out an enemy and their reserves of power.

Divine Protection

Coyote was blessed by Eyael to prevent satanic corruption, empowering Coyote with angelic power and preventing Satan- who was attempting to corrupt Coyote and take his soul- from attacking the Neutral. This gave Coyote seemingly more control over his emotions and thereby his strings, likely losing his emotional weakness that he’d held before.

Spectral Levitation

As mentioned in the image, Coyote’s spirit strings are not apart of his body and he can thereby use them to lift himself. This allows Coyote to fly for extended periods of times, even if his physical body is unable to move.

Energy Dispellment

With his power and aura, Coyote can dispel power around him to reflect opponents who attempt to attack him. This allows him to prevent physical touch against him- which, if his opponent overpowers this aura, he has another field of protection under his sleeve.

Energy Protection

With the aforementioned aura of energy dispellment, Coyote holds an aura that protects him from magical and non-physical attacks as well as physical.

Golden Shower

By releasing his power into the sky, Coyote can create a city-wide rain of strings (referenced by Trolls as a ‘Golden shower’) which can cut through people and objects alike with force. However, due to the sheer range of this ability and conscious effort required, it can exhaust Coyote’s power and knock him unconscious.

Mind Manipulation

Even if you aren’t dead, Coyote can imbue his strings inside of you, completely preventing you from attacking him. If Coyote is unconscious, this ability will still persist, preventing you from even attempting to take him down if you incapacitate him.

Support

Bugs

uh lol

Coyote

Road Runner

Coyote’s former rival whom he had shot to death by Shadow the Hedgehog. He now wields Road Runner as a puppet who he controls completely which he can use for various means of attack, such as using the Road Runner to create dust tornadoes, drag opponents across the ground, and generally overwhelm an opponents perception with sheer speed.

Yin Yang Serpents

Two ‘serpends’ that act united as one, allowing the two to enact illusionary forces upon opponents. This can scramble ones nervous system, cast illusions upon their eyes, and can control winds and plants. However, if Coyote needs to, he is able to use them as physical attacking puppets, too.

Poppy Bros Jr.

Most recognizable from the Kirby series, Coyote can summon four (or more). They are bomb-throwing jesters- which is basically all that they’re good for, besides their ability to distract opponents.

Goomba

One of Bowser’s minions (most recognizable from the Mario series) which Coyote can summon. He has only particularly used it as bait, and they have shown no notable combative abilities besides being very weak and easy to troll.

Birds

A mass of birds Coyote can summon and control through his book, having strings internalized within them all. They can be used to scout mass areas and act as air support- being able to group together into large blockades potentially or similar distractions. However, wielding all of Coyote’s birds requires him to be put into a physical paralysis unless he exits the birds due to the simultaneous control of all requiring his entire mind.

Garry

An immensely powerful man- brother to Demaro- who Coyote unknowingly wields in his book dimension. Not only is Garry physically powerful, being able to lift Miladox and overpower it, but he can form a suit of magma armor as a means of defense. Gary’s most powerful ability is earth bending, allowing him to control the earth around him as a weapon which has overwhelmed nearly anyone it’s been used against.

Demaro

A Satanist Neutral and former troll that Coyote fought against before, after his full defeat, was put away in Coyote’s book. He has shown various abilities, especially through his string, such as similar wound patching to Coyote, flight, forcefield creation, and weapon generation with his strings. Unlike Coyote, Demaro has been the only Neutral known thus far to be able to tame and actively use the Soul Guardian Miladox.

Addy the Demon

One of Demaro’s one-off puppets being a very physically powerful demon that can crush people in a single blow.

Kelic

A former Satanist and Neutral warrior who has existed ever since the first war between Christians and Satanists. He is able to mass summon corpses as a necromancer, and is now in possession of Coyote. However, due to the nature of being undead, it is unknown if his body’s powers as a Neutral can be used.

Miladox, Guardian of Souls

Miladox is the Guardian of Souls who exists within Demaro and Demaro alone, acting as a protector to the Satanist. It has the ability to form its own pocket dimension and has the further ability, like other Guardians, to change the very sky into its own special color. Miladox, like all Guardians, is both immortal and unable to be killed due to being made of divine magic, allowing it to reform from any damage done to it physically. As the Guardian of Souls, it also retains the ability to devour souls from its enemies.

Dusk Hunter, Guardian of the Moon

Dusk Hunter is the Guardian of the Moon and is a dog-like protector that Demaro must control at all times with his string. It is very physically powerful and can maul people with ease- and can be further used by Demaro to hide himself inside of it to defend himself. Like with other guardians, it has the ability to change the very sky into its own special color, being red. By calling upon the energy of the Moon, it can create explosions that are able to destroy much stronger defenses.

Mightis, Guardian of the Forest

Mightis is the Guardian of the Forest and a living tree acting as one of Coyote’s puppets, being fully in his control. However, Coyote will always reform it into an acorn when depositing him in his book. While he has not shown combat usage, Coyote has used it to override the powers of the Dusk Hunter, changing the sky to the green of a forest- implying that it is innately more powerful. However, Coyote refuses to use the Guardian because he does not see it as worth it against weaker opponents. Although not currently revealed in the story, Mightis’ ability is to create an external body of armor that, when destroyed, recreates Mightis itself.

Weaknesses

Bugs

Bugs from her time in the war presumably retains a lot of pain from her past- as we’ve seen in her fights- completely interrupting her amidst a fight and bloodlust when she was reminded of herself. Additionally, Bugs is a very bloodthirsty fighter (however her bloodlust has seemingly tamed after the war) who will do anything in their ability to kill her enemies, and has shown the willingness to disengage their deadly abilities in close quarters just to enact a more brutal killing. As a Ballyhoo user, Bugs will gain more power through her admiration and people watching her- however, she will weaken if she loses sight of her goal, lacks admiration from others, or isn’t seen as glamorous enough. This makes Bugs attempt to break the fourth wall a bit more often to the disamusement to others, and usually forces Bugs to stay in touch with her emotions as to tailor them so she doesn’t lose admiration or power. In addition, while Bugs is normally unaffected by her Ballyhoo, she is still affected by the movement of space and suction of Dead Air- however, she has shown the ability to use this catch of her Ballyhoo as a way to increase her agility and movement speed by launching herself with the suction caused by Dead Air.

Coyote

Coyote has extensive post-traumatic stress which makes anything in response to his past friends lead to him breaking down, and he can get visions of his friends if they need to contact him which can cause him to lose completely focus on an objective. As a Neutral, Coyote has innate weaknesses that he’s forced to abide by, else he must lose his power. If Coyote is overwhelmed by any particular emotion, it can completely dampen his powers and detach them from his very existence. Additionally, Neutrals are able to be influenced by Satan, who can force Neutrals to take their lives or withdraw their souls to him- with, as seen with Demaro, Satanic Neutrals becoming much less sane and able-bodied than their Neutral counterparts and preventing them from wielding their powers at their best. In addition to this, Coyote’s powers have many caveats. With various puppets, Coyote only controls them when he manipulates their bodies and certain powerful enough beings, such as seen with the Soul Guardian Miladox, can overpower his control. In addition, Coyote requires more and more focus to wield larger numbers- up to where he needs to completely shut down his body and focus his mind to control puppets- which can prevent him from fighting as well alongside them. Similarly, Coyote’s puppets such as his birds are much more difficult to control because actions such as flight are not in Coyote’s muscle memory, and he needs to learn how to wield certain abilities from puppets if they are dead or if he takes control over them (this is, luckily, not an issue due to his ability to quickly learn).  Coyote can also not exert too much energy with his strings due to being tied to his soul, which can lead him to becoming physically drained and unable to fight if he uses the power too much or across a large range, causing him to pass out or require meditation to regain his energy.

Feats

Bugs

Overall

  • One of the strongest Ballyhoo users, pushed even further with her Twilight Blessing as a powerful combatant.

  • Took on an Anti-Hoo Ms. Bellum alongside Scoob and Shag, as well as having taken on Scoob in the past.

  • Regarded as one of the most powerful commanders, taking down entire groups with her power at once and leaving nothing behind but a scream.

  • Legendary commander of the Toones, with an immense skill in combat overall that allowed her to become a highly prestigious fighter after the Martian war.

Power

Speed

  • Likely comparable, if not superior to, Pops who’s Ballyhoo allows him to see bullets moving in slow motion and react to them.

    • Despite describing his reaction time as instantaneous with his Ballyhoo, Swipes and Courage could still match him in combat both with attacks and reacting to Pops’ attacks with Frame by Frame that could previously catch bullets.

  • Superior to Shag who could dodge Jump Cut, yet was regarding it as one of the faster Ballyhoos.

  • Superior to Courage, who could dodge a bullet from Pop at a close range and dodges a barrage of bullets.

Durability

Coyote

Overall

  • One of the most powerful Neutrals in the story, regarded as the strongest and superior to most other classes in physicality and power.

  • Has taken on and defeated multiple Trolls, demonic neutrals, and once killed off an entire Troll city with his strings.

  • Sealed away Miladox, the Guardian of Souls.

  • Effortlessly destroyed a Troll Fortress and easily took down large numbers of Trolls in his crusade against them.

  • Gained support from Heaven’s angels themselves against his fight over Satan’s control over his soul as to not succumb.

Power

Speed

Durability

  • Superior to Blaze who withstood her own flames, which vaporized a large portion of the ground around herself and Mauller.

  • Withstood being hit by Troll Face’s shotgun and blows from Sonichu.

  • Could withstand hits from Miladox and Demaro in direct combat, with his strings being able to effortlessly take and counteract blows from the latter.

  • Survived being launched into the ground when he fell from the sky, taking no injuries from it.

Before the Verdict

Bottle Episode

In Scoob and Shag, Eddy’s Ballyhoo dubbed Bottle Episode basically holds a train that seems to be infinite- continuing on forever and looping. This is basically the most we know about his Ballyhoo, which seems to be an infinite pocket dimension he creates, which we were thinking of somehow getting a way to scale Bugs to it… you know, for funny sake.

But of course, there are a number of flaws with this. While Ballyhoo energy does all scale relative physically, we have no context as to how Eddy’s Ballyhoo works in the first place besides its showings in three episodes. We do have enough context to say that it wouldn’t be an innate outlier if you believed that Ballyhoo energy scales innately, with Cue Card’s ability being that it creates infinite converging choices with its cards, and Scoob gaining the full blessing of one of the Gods placing them at least into the grounds of a cosmic idea- however, we simply don’t think that Eddy’s Ballyhoo scales physically at least for it’s lack of context, and the general showings of other characters display to us that any other argument would be an outlier, assuming you could even validate them without another actual feat such as this one.

Hindo’s Big ol’ Storm

In one of the many fights, Hindo creates a black lightning storm against Rob in his climax, striking down Rob with tons of lightning that he’s able to react to. While we believe that the lightning in this context could be legitimate, due to coming from the clouds and characters scaling both to Hindo’s lightning he calls down and his direct projectile lightnings from his hands, we don’t agree with Hindo scaling to the energy output you could get out of Hindo’s storm due to the vagueness of the feat and the innate likelihood as just being considered manipulation of the weather rather than out of strength. However, should you use this feat, we do think it’s fair game as it isn’t an outlier comparatively.

We do have some consistency issues with Hindo’s lightning being used as a feat, due to prior caps on the verse being through moving barely in tandem with bullets. Coyote himself was caught immensely off-guard and was too slow to react to a shotgun blast, later reacting at a longer range when he had gotten emotionally amplified, and characters such as Silver or Knuckles have explicitly struggled with guns, with those like Tom explicitly noting that they’re difficult to fight against in direct conflict. While you could absolutely take on the lightning feat as acceptable, the various anti-feats that this series has and how consistent characters struggle with bullet timing makes it questionable to scale characters to a feat that could be up to many thousands of times faster.

Shadow’s City Nuke

In an early comic, Shadow displayed the ability to destroy an entire small town with one of his blasts, destroying everything in the vicinity. While we do think the feat itself could be legitimate, the calculation found to get it in the Megaton range could be flawed because of the vague size and the unlikelihood that Shadow’s “turn them all to dust” statement was actually what he verbatim does here, due to the shown destruction. Thus, we think the value given is a 40/60 case depending on what you perceive it as, but we nonetheless lean to it being incorrect simply due to a lack of overall information for the feat.

Verdict

Stats

To begin, let’s look at stats for these two, an aspect that might be one of the more relative closer ends between these two. Both were going to reach around similar very low numbers in tons of TNT, with Bugs reaching around 0.0014 to 0.013 tons of TNT at her lowest and all the way up to 0.671 tons of TNT at her highest with the explosion feat that Mick was able to survive being at the direct center of. Coyote did get in this similar department, too, reaching around 0.094 tons of TNT with an absolute high end of around a single ton of TNT. While we were very uncertain about the high end in question, it did make numbers relatively closer with such a low number used for a vaporization feat admittedly. The highest end for this feat, although we hadn’t listed it directly because of innate disagreements, goes off of using VS Battle Wiki’s average vaporization value that gets into the kiloton range… A value that obviously has innate problems with it, hence why he didn’t use it here. In regards to other miscellaneous strength feats, both are also quite impressive, with Coyote’s lifting of Miladox and Bugs scaling to Kerm who could lift an entire building.

In regards to controversial stat ends, Coyote did take the higher numerical ends. While Bugs’ mountain explosion could get really high, there were no good methods to exactly scale it’s size to where we could gauge a value, and while we did disagree with the method to get where Shadow’s feat got with Coyote, that had an assumed value at a bare minimum. Unfortunately, if you did use the high end for Coyote, he would in turn retain the strength advantage in that regard which would be supported even further with how high you could get Hindo’s storm up to, which even if innately disagreeable to scale physically does display that there is a consistency that characters could get in this stat range just in general. Of course, this doesn’t mean that we necessarily agree with it, but the argument for this is absolutely open-ended because it comes down to interpretation as mentioned in the Before the Verdict from earlier because of the vagueness of the feat and missing many notable details that could quantify it more specifically.

As for speed, these two characters were a bit more competitive. Due to the display of many different dodging feats, we could not assign specific values to many sorts of feats besides applying a general baseline, such as with bullet-dodging, creating afterimages, moving faster than eyesight, etcetera. However, when we compare the instances, Bugs does get innately faster even without numbers because of sheer scaling. Slowing down bullets to a standstill and creating afterimages in tandem with gunfire, as well as being able to easily weave around multiple gunshots, and these characters being those innately inferior to Bugs physically, just generally should net faster speeds than scaling and likely upscaling someone who struggled to catch shotgun blasts and (on his own) Coyote being able to deflect shotgun blasts. With this in mind, Bugs should nonetheless be considered the faster between the two despite both having very similar feats to scale to, both because she upscales feats that would at a bare minimum match Coyote’s, but also because the feats she upscales from are typically innately higher statistically despite not having a calculation possible for them.

Of course, if you truly wanted to, you could make the case for lightning timing for Coyote off of Hindo’s black lightning, which got vastly higher than anything you could make the case for with Bugs assuming that you agreed with it in the first place. If you didn’t, however, which was very likely due to how big of an outlier it holds the potential to be, the feat didn’t really matter too much in the long run. Either way, like with the statistics edge argued prior, should you scale Coyote to these feats or not comes down to sheer interpretation rather than inherent objective faults, hence why we believe it’s more down to a 40/60 regard, with the likelihood of being an outlier making us lean more so towards the unusability of this feat specifically due to the consistent hard-capped limit of characters being of their bullet-timing.

Overall, while Bugs and Coyote are both generally similar, Bugs retains most advantages. Coyote’s general means of getting statistic advantages over Bugs require taking up high-ends for various feats, while Bugs has many more direct feats that get higher than what Coyote would get. In regards to what we believe to be most accurate, Coyote should get around 0.094 Tons of TNT while Bugs would get around 0.671 Tons of TNT, with Bugs having more consistent bullet dodging and catching upscaling compared to Coyote’s bullet deflection. This would put Bugs around several times stronger than Coyote and slightly faster overall.

Arsenal & Abilities

Looking past just sheer strength numbers, both characters have notably large arsenals that both need to circumvent in order to take down the other. Bugs’ Dead Air is a highly powerful ability capable of wiping out anything she hits and easily destroying anything she can get her hands on otherwise, making it a very difficult roadblock with how much Bugs can take control over the battleground. With her Double Edged Swords, Bugs can effortlessly cut apart anything that Coyote brings up with his book, she can create large forcefields with Dead Air to prevent herself from taking damage, and she can fly around the battlefield with Dead Air. Coyote retains similar agility to match this, too, both in his means of flight and slinging with strings, although likely not as speedy as Bugs’ propulsion, and other miscellaneous abilities such as his physical and non-physical forcefields, or his Neutral techniques such as his balls of string or chain creation that allows him to form massive constructs that could lock Bugs up physically. However, while both definitely matched eachother, Bugs retains a massive edge over Coyote despite the likely less creative applications being able to irregardless of the situation deconstruct his strings by touching them, forming Dead Air onto them, or having them touch Dead Air directly which she can create auras with or create large scale vortexs with.

Bugs didn’t fully counter everything in Coyote’s kit, though, and Coyote himself held a number of advantages. He likely wasn’t going to be overwhelmed by Bugs’ fear aura due to his sheer willpower and basically resisting the pressure that Neutrals inflict upon others by existing against eachother’s strings, and any instance of allowing his strings to get inside of Bugs would allow him to counteract Bugs’ essential teleportation should she launch herself with Dead Air to catch him off guard as well as likely control Bugs himself with it. Due to Coyote’s own standard battle tactics, playing his distance even against those he sees vastly weaker such as Demaro until he finds a weakpoint to completely overwhelm him, Coyote would be very unlikely to get immediately hit by Bugs’ deconstruction. Plus, Coyote’s abundance of summons allows him to dispense several lackeys to take hits or learn more about Bugs’ Ballyhoo, with puppets such as the Yin Yang Serpends allowing him to bypass Dead Air’s spatial manipulation that would prevent Coyote from landing direct hits, and Bugs’ abilities could push him to use Guardians such as Mightis, which offer free defense against Bugs’ deconstruction or Dead Air projectiles, or even find a way to force Miladox out against Bugs who, despite his inability to control, would likely be a very lethal and useful asset even should he attack Coyote due to the latter’s knowledge of the Guardian’s weaknesses.

In total, however, both do take many advantages. Coyote is an impressive and significantly more versatile combatant due to his wide array of puppets who he can use against Bugs, allowing him to take free blows constantly preventing him from immediately going down against Dead Air’s attacks. However, Bugs’ usage of Double Edged Sword allows her to bypass all of Coyote’s defenses both in string barriers unless he relies on energy repulsion, as well as being able to easily deal with Guardians due to her erasure bypassing their divine immortality, and her own static aura preventing Coyote from landing blows that would allow him to control Bugs physically or incapacitate her. And, despite Coyote’s survivability and tons of techniques, the advantage Bugs holds in her environmental control allows her to easily dominate the playing field a lot more consistently with a single touch threatening Coyote while she can create large numbers of projectiles that Coyote cannot easily defend against. Both also have tons of abilities that more than likely cancel out eachother, too, such as the ability to make one another struggle to fight properly with Bugs’ white noise and the Yin Yang Serpends, or being able to easily travel across the battlefield, or both being able to project rather high scale attacks with their main methods of attack… but nonetheless, Bugs’ advantage of being able to easily bypass Coyote’s on-demand methods of defense, the lethality of a single touch due to her deconstruction, and the ability to bypass Coyote’s strongest puppets constantly allows her to take several routes to attack Coyote, while the Neutral himself doesn’t have many consistent options to defend himself nor bypass Bugs’ forcefield creation.

Tertiary Factors

Both retain tons of similar combat skill and experience, but between the two, Bugs is blatantly a lot more experienced. She’s fought through wars on her own, has extensive battlefield combat experience in her role as a commander for the Toones, and this has compiled to around fifteen years or so. Coyote’s timeframes are a lot more vague, but given his age, he likely hasn’t retained to anywhere close near to the combat experience shown by Bugs in a fight.

However, Coyote is a distinctly more intelligent combatant. He has displayed tons of intelligent routes of combat, being able to learn on-the-fly attack routines and patterns, understand how his opponents fight extensively even after witnessing them perform small moves, and his knowledge on Neutral powers allowed him to take on other similarly-experienced fighters like Demaro who’ve been trained since his youth as a Neutral. Plus, his prestige as one of the strongest Neutrals isn’t just relative to his strength- he’s displayed some of the greatest usage in his strings and is considered superior to those like Sylvester who created entirely new paths of his Neutral power by learning to subconsciously control strings which no other Neutral at the time had done, and his knowledge on how to maintain his emotions allows him to keep up in combat a lot more consistently.

Comparatively, Bugs is a lot more carefree but emotional in combat, usually carrying herself in a high state of mind and easily willing to kill, which can directly lead to her own struggles in combat when she becomes filled with emotion and into a berserker. While Coyote has also had this sort of struggle, his state of mind when he gets filled with wrath amplifies him and makes him more willing to kill than directly weaken his mindset, focused on killing completely. Compare this to Bugs, who’s state of mind when she became enraged against Scoob led to her self-reflection on the past. This is a very small disadvantage, but with Bugs having a weaker state of mind can easily lead to conflicts in a fight against herself, while Coyote can fight with his emotions on the line and, even when he’s overwhelmed, it could more than likely put him at an advantage.

Conclusion

No can do, bucko. There's still too much bad blood between da martians and toones. Fifteen years a' war doesn't just go away like dat. If I can make 'dem realize we have a common enemy, we'll stand a better chance against Mick and da army he's building. And I think I got myself an idea…

Advantages:

  • Likely stronger and faster.

  • Far more experienced.

  • Forcefields prevent Coyote from attacking her directly.

  • Dead Air can erase Coyote and his Guardians through a single touch.

  • Double Edged Sword allows Bugs to bypass Coyote’s forcefields and armor

  • Able to easily kill any of Coyote’s puppets with Dead Air or drive their souls insane due to her fear aura.

  • Deconstruction completely prevents Coyote from reusing puppets if they’re destroyed.

  • Vortexes can easily destroy Coyote’s constructs and Neutral techniques.

  • Gets stronger as you guys praise her.

  • Icon..

Disadvantages:

  • Could be physically weaker and slower should you buy specific high ends.

  • Cannot explicitly counteract her body being controlled.

  • Doesn’t resist Coyote’s potential methods of bypassing Dead Air’s aura.

  • Lacks survivability options comparatively.

  • Much less stamina.

  • Could be overwhelmed by her emotions due to her rage.

  • Not as rawesome.

You, are a guardian... I discovered this when you formed back after I destroyed your body. From my knowledge, all guardians can't be killed because they aren't actually alive.. Formed from some kind of divine magic.. You are deemed a "Guardian", correct? So what exactly were you meant to protect? Hmm…

Advantages:

  • Could be stronger with specific high-ends, if you agree with them.

  • Can control Bugs’ body with his strings, allowing him to shut off Bugs’ Ballyhoo.

  • Much more versatile and creative with ability applications.

  • Has ways to affect Bugs non-physically with his puppets.

  • More skilled overall in combat.

  • Vastly more stamina and survivability via wound repair.

  • Rage can strengthen him in the fight overtime.

  • Without prior knowledge of a Gate’s characteristics, he could use Miladox to seal away Bugs in a pocket dimension she can’t leave easily.

  • Actually killed the Road Runner (with help from Shadow the Hedgehog)

  • Aware of who you’re rooting for… beware.

  • Miladox could be used to kill off Bugs by attacking her soul…

  • Spear of String could depower Bugs…

Disadvantages:

  • … but could also kill both parties due to how it works.

  • … but Miladox can be easily killed because of erasure and Double Edged Sword.

  • Likely weaker and slower.

  • Has no direct way to bypass Dead Air’s barriers and aura.

  • Can be easily killed by Dead Air if he gets touched by Bugs.

  • Puppets can be easily overwhelmed by Bugs’ pressure and destroyed via Dead Air easily.

  • Tails Gets Gay and his shotgun.

Both of these two are just some of the coolest fighters we’ve had on the blog to-date. Both have a ton of ridiculous and more complicated abilities to go over, and saying that this was an easy argument to have was dead-wrong with how much we flip-flopped on our thoughts on the winner. Coyote had a ton of advantages and, should he able to land blows on Bugs, he could easily take advantage and overwhelm Bugs with his Neutral powers, especially should he gain the ability to control Bugs’ body. However, this same sort of leniency wasn’t something Bugs would willingly give in a fight, having her means of a perfect defense that Coyote needed to use many out-of-the-way tactics to oppose, and allowing her to completely purge Coyote’s means of taking a victory over her with the inability to be hit physically by his strings and being able to erase any and all constructs with her bare hands.

This became even further important with Coyote’s puppet summoning which, while inherently dispensable thus not being an innate disadvantage, Bugs could shut down every single puppet Coyote had with various techniques, both having the means to easily negate durability and still being able to deconstruct objects by touching them. Given she could perform this just by ramming into objects, too, charging through puppets at an insane speed such as how she’d attempt to kill Shag against Coyote, it was unlikely Coyote actually had anything capable enough to block off and get in Bugs’ way in a fight.

In total, Bugs truthfully held everything she needs to win in this fight. Despite Coyote’s impressive showings and much more creative usage as well as a highly powerful versatility advantage, Bugs more reliable counters and ability allows her to go through everything Coyote could do in a fight. Destroying his puppets would eventually bring Bugs down to the path to land a single blow on Coyote- if she couldn’t hit him with a Martian Art prior- and completely erase Coyote from this battle with her static. Ultimately, while Coyote was truly the strongest Neutral, the victory was only going to lean towards those who wield the true means of strength- and in this fight, the static commander was eventually going to drown out Coyote’s heavenly power with the screams of dead souls.
